These terms apply when you use this website, join a BettaHabit programme, or buy our supplements. They are an agreement between you and BettaHabit (Pty) Ltd. Nothing in them limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law that protects you.
1. Who can use our services
Our programmes and products are for adults (18 and over) living in South Africa.
2. What we do, and what we don't
BettaHabit provides coaching, programme support, booking and our health supplements. We do not provide medical care and we do not sell medicines.
Medical consultations are provided by independent, HPCSA-registered doctors who are responsible for their own clinical decisions. Prescriptions are dispensed by SAPC-registered pharmacies. When you consult a doctor or fill a prescription, you enter a separate relationship with that practice or pharmacy, under its own terms and fees.
Our coaches are not doctors. They don't diagnose, prescribe or change treatment, and they pass medical questions to your doctor.
3. Not for emergencies
Our services are not for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, call 10177 for an ambulance, 112 from a mobile, or go to your nearest emergency unit.
4. The 2-minute check and website information
The check and the information on this website are general guidance. They are not a diagnosis or medical advice, and they don't replace a consultation. See our medical disclaimer.
5. Programme memberships
- Your membership starts only after your first consult, if you and your doctor decide to go ahead.
- Monthly memberships are billed in advance on the same date each month. The recovery programme is billed once.
- You can cancel at any time before your next billing date, and you won't be charged again. You can pause for up to two months.
- Refunds are covered in our returns and cancellations policy.
- We don't promise any particular result. Outcomes depend on your health, your circumstances and the plan you agree with your doctor.
6. Supplements
- Our supplements are health supplements. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
- Read the label and the product page before use. Check with your doctor or pharmacist first if you take medicine, have a medical condition, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Prices are in rand and include VAT. We may change prices, but the price you pay is the one shown when you order.
- We deliver within South Africa. Delivery times are estimates. Risk passes to you on delivery.
7. Payments
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We don't store your full card details. If a subscription payment fails, we'll let you know and try again before pausing your membership.
8. Your account and conduct
Please give accurate information, especially to your doctor. Treat our team and the clinicians you meet with respect; we may end a membership if someone is abusive or misuses the service.
9. Our content
The text, design, logos and graphics on this site belong to BettaHabit. You're welcome to share links and short quotes with attribution, but not to copy the site or use our brand without permission.
10. Liability
We take reasonable care in everything we do. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the clinical decisions of independent doctors and pharmacies. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
11. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
12. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, email hello@bettahabit.com and we'll respond within five working days. Complaints about a doctor's care can also go to the practice, or to the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
13. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time you use our services applies. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
